Data Deletion Policy

At Yax Finance, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how you can request deletion of your data and what happens when you do.
1. Your Right to Delete
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. This includes:
- Account information (email, name, profile data)
- Transaction history and financial data
- Connected bank account information
- App usage data and preferences
2. How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: In-App Deletion
- Open the Yax Finance app
- Go to Settings
- Select "Account"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your request
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@yaxfinance.com with:
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- The email address associated with your account
- Confirmation that you want to delete all your data
3. What Gets Deleted
When you request account deletion, we will remove:
- Account Data: Your email, name, and authentication credentials
- Financial Data: All transaction history, account balances, and spending analytics
- Plaid Connections: We will revoke access tokens and disconnect all linked bank accounts
- App Data: Preferences, categories, budgets, and any customizations
4. Data Retention After Deletion
After processing your deletion request:
- Immediate: Your account becomes inaccessible and data is marked for deletion
- Within 30 days: All personal data is permanently deleted from our active systems
- Within 90 days: Data is removed from backups
Exceptions
We may retain certain information as required by law, including:
- Records required for legal compliance or tax purposes
- Information needed to resolve disputes or enforce agreements
- Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you
5. Third-Party Data
When you delete your account:
- Plaid: We will send a request to Plaid to delete your connection data. You can also manage your Plaid connections directly at my.plaid.com
- Authentication Providers: If you signed in with Google or Apple, you may need to revoke app access separately in your Google/Apple account settings
6. Confirmation
After your data has been deleted, we will send a confirmation email to the address associated with your account (if available). This email will confirm:
- Date of deletion request
- Date deletion was completed
- Categories of data that were deleted
7. Disconnecting Bank Accounts (Without Deleting Account)
If you want to remove connected bank accounts but keep your Yax Finance account:
- Open the Yax Finance app
- Go to Settings
- Select "Connected Accounts"
- Tap the account you want to remove
- Select "Disconnect"
This will remove the bank connection and associated transaction data while preserving your account.
8. Processing Time
- In-app requests: Processed within 24-48 hours
- Email requests: Processed within 7 business days
- California residents (CCPA): Within 45 days as required by law
